On Sharing

It was our belief that the love of possessions is a weakness to be
overcome.

Its appeal is to the material part, and if allowed its way, it will
in time disturb one's spiritual balance.

Therefore, children must early learn the beauty of generosity.

They are taught to give what they prize most, that they may taste the
happiness of giving.

If a child is inclined to be grasping, or to cling to any of his or
her little possessions, legends are related about contempt and
disgrace falling upon the ungenerous and mean person ...

The Indians in their simplicity literally give away all that they
have - to relatives, to guests of other tribes or clans, but above
all to the poor and the aged, from whom they can hope for no return.

O Birther

Here's a new twist on an old standard.

O Birther! Father-Mother of the Cosmos,
focus your light within us. Create your reign of unity now.
Your one desire then acts with ours,
as in all light, so in all forms.
Grant what we need each day in bread and insight.
Loose the cord of mistakes binding us,
as we release the strands we hold of others' guilt.
Don't let surface things delude us,
but free us from what holds us back.
From You is born all ruling will, the power and the life to do,
the song that beautifies all, from age to age it renews.
Truly - power to these statements - may they be the ground
from which all our actions grow.
So be it.

Power of Now - Power vs Force

If you haven't read these two books, I highly recommend them. The value of the two of them combined is exponential to each separate work.

Here's a powerful quote from Eckhart Tolle:

"Wisdom is not a product of thought. The deep “knowing” that is wisdom arises through the simple act of giving someone or something your full attention. Attention is primordial intelligence, consciousness itself. It dissolves the barriers created by conceptual thought, and with this comes the recognition that nothing exists in and by itself. It joins the perceiver and the perceived in a unifying field of awareness. It is the healer of separation. "
